What better way to spend a hot summer day than curled up with a good book in an air conditioned reading nook with a tall glass of iced tea? Or better yet, poolside, lakeside, or oceanside, basking in the sun. Point is, a cool, refreshing drink is a must! And I’ve got just the thing, courtesy of my newest novel, The Matchmaker’s Charm from Champagne Books.
In The Matchmaker’s Charm, a time travel romance adventure, our heroine, Selina Loversedge, has just returned from the first of many trips to the past and is enjoying a snack – her mother’s garlic knots (that recipe coming soon!) with a glass of ginger & honey iced tea to wash it down.
Here’s everything you’ll need to enjoy this delightful drink for yourself!
- 10 cups water
- 2 family-size tea bags
- 1/2 to 3/4 cups honey (depending on how sweet you like your tea)
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 2 lemons – 1 juiced and 1 sliced for garnish
Directions
- Boil 3 cups of water in a small saucepan, then add teabags and simmer for 1 minute
- Remove from heat, cover and steep for 15 minutes
- Discard tea bags
- Add honey, ginger, and juice from one lemon, stir well
- Pour into a one-gallon pitcher and add 7 cups of cold water
- Serve over ice with sliced lemon garnish
- Enjoy!
